When Miller County was founded in southwestern Georgia, Colquitt quickly became its seat in 1856. Formally incorporated in 1860, the city is named after U.S. Congressman and Senator Walter Colquitt. Colquitt is home to two theatres: The Cotton Theatre and Hunter Theatre.
In 2003, Colquitt's Cotton Hall Theatre featured "A Southern Christmas Carol" by award-winning playwright Rob Lauer. The New York City-based cast of actors opened to critical and box-office acclaim. Returning in 2004 and 2005, this play has become a holiday attraction in the southeastern United States.
In 2010, Colquitt hosted the Global Mural Conference as the first-named mural city in the state of Georgia. It is also the home of the National Mayhaw Festival. This annual event features a golf tournament, parade, 5k run, bike ride and more. Check out the local Colquitt vendors and participate in these events each spring.

Imagine downloading and uploading large files in minutes, streaming 4K content with no buffering and video conferencing with crystal-clear clarity. Point Broadband's fiber internet in Colquitt makes this a reality.
Point Broadband is proud to offer its Fiber-to-the-Premises Network, which sends data much faster than cable Internet. It's delivered on a fiber optic connection, which facilitates more consistent speed than cable — even during peak usage times. With speeds up to 2 Gbps, our Fiber-to-the-Premises internet uses strands of light-transmitting glass to send information. This way, data gets sent quickly over huge distances, with upload speeds equal to download speeds. Fiber-to-the-Premises internet connectivity also offers significant reliability advantages over other traditional options.
There are situations where a Fiber-to-the-Premises Network connection is not immediately available in your area. That is where Point Broadband's Fixed Wireless Network comes in.
Our Fixed Wireless Network utilizes local fiber-fed towers to send high-speed internet signals to your home. This service offers download and upload speeds of up to 200 Mbps. It is a cost-effective and efficient solution that delivers internet to areas with limited fiber optic infrastructure.
