Diponzio and Shumard join Point Broadband to lead technology and engineering efforts
OPELIKA, AL (Sept. 23, 2024) – Point Broadband, a leading fiber-to-the-premise internet provider, is excited to announce the appointments of Nicholas (Nick) DiPonzio as Chief Construction Officer and Joann Shumard as Chief Network Officer, effective today. As CCO, DiPonzio will oversee fixed wireless, construction, and network design. As CNO, Shumard will lead the production engineering, cybersecurity, and network engineering and architecture teams. Both DiPonzio and Shumard will report directly to CEO Patricia Martin.
With 25+ years of experience in engineering and technology, DiPonzio has a distinguished background from Cox Communications, where he held various executive roles in service assurance, outside plant construction, infrastructure, facilities engineering, and technology. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Infrastructure/New Business Development at Duke Tech Solutions in Cary, NC.
Shumard, with more than 25 years of experience in telecommunications, joins from Comcast, where she held multiple leadership roles in engineering and operations during her long career there. Her most recent position was Vice President of Engineering and Operations with Comcast National Operations.
